High
quality construction
AFE / Advanced Flow Engineering does
what they have set out to accomplish:
They improve and enhance the power
of your E53 BMW X5 3.0 by upgrading
your intake system through high flow
filters and complete intake kits.
As a result, their level of engineering
and commitment to quality is fantastic.
Not only that, but AFE won't produce
an intake unless it significantly
increases the power of your vehicle.
To increase power, AFE uses medical
grade cotton gauze filter media that
reduces air restriction and increases
engine output. The surface area is
optimized to reduce pressure differential
across the element, resulting in reduced
backpressure and increased torque.
In other words, you will notice this
modification immediately once installed.
To acheive maximum air flow, AFE uses
precision pleat geometry to optimize
airflow through the intake system
which is engineered to control maximum
filter face air velocity with deep
precision pleats. Increased engine
protection is accomplished by using
multi-layer oiled cotton gauze, which
attracts and traps contaminants without
sacrificing air flow. As well as sturdy
epoxy coated wire mesh construction
that protects the filter and the engine
from the damage caused by large debris.
A unique progressive seal design also
ensures a true-factory seal and prevents
filter seal bypass, which can cause
additional issues.
